The photograph portrays the enduring fight for "woman, life, liberty" in contemporary Iran and echoes the liberty-seeking voice of women in Iran, which has never been extinguished despite everyday oppression.
Gordafarid is a heroine and a feminine figure of wisdom and courage in Shāhnāmeh, the most significant Persian literary work of epic poetry; a warrior who fought courageously against the raiders of Persia.
