Polo Bawa is a century-old traditional fishing festival in Pabna, Bangladesh on November 28, 2023. Held in late winter when water levels are low and farmlands aren't ready for new crops, the festival attracts hundreds of villagers and fishermen. Participants use boats, bamboo-made fish-catching traps and nets called "polo" in knee-deep water, creating a festive atmosphere. The event serves as a communal activity, bringing people of all ages together to celebrate, forget their worries, and enjoy the adventure. It has become a significant cultural and social tradition in the riverine regions of the country.
