Story
"Interview with a Vampire" is not just a story about vampires, it is a deep parable about love, loss and, of course, eternal youth. The film, based on the novel by Anne Rice, makes us think about the price we have to pay for immortality.
The main characters, Lestat and Louis, embody two sides of the same coin: passion and longing. Lestat enjoys the life of a vampire, enjoys his eternal youth, "living" on the edge. For him, immortality is freedom, the opportunity to explore the world and enjoy every moment. Louis, on the other hand, is facing a deep existential crisis. He embodies sadness and doubt, realizing that eternal youth comes with the burden of not being able to share fate with loved ones.
In addition to the main characters, there is a parallel tragic line of Claudia, a vampire child who grows up mentally and does not change physically.
