You know when I look back at my life, down the memory lane I always feel like when I had no one to cling onto when there was no one I could rely on when any other man would find himself deserted I always had the warmth, the comfort that Mother Nature offered me. Well, you might think Nature has been a comfort zone for me, an escape route for me, you see it’s kind of true. But my relationship with Her extends far beyond. Not only did she serve as a comfort zone for me but stirred my blood from within, it shook my mind, gave me this hunger to do something and thus you see this simpleton hailing from Madhyamgram fell in love with Nature. My love for nature extends far beyond basic romanticism, growing up I had always been a lover of sports and exploration. Well taking those into consideration I want to explore Nature as much as my petty limits would allow me. Starting from the sanctifying Ganges to the robust yet tranquil Himalayas, the decadent yet placid seas to the starry skies up ahead I want to explore it all.
To begin with, I’m a full-time Nature, Adventure and Wildlife filmmaker and a photographer in the making. To add to that I’m a professional climber having a repute for capturing specific and extraordinary frames while climbing in environments which deal with life and death, risks that would give any man goosebumps to remember or rather shivers down his spine but you see, once you tackle them the view which unfurls is awe-inspiring to the eye. Views are an absolute treat to the eye. My knowledge of the climbing gears and techniques allows me to manoeuvre through “the roads not taken”. Thereby you can say my climbing skills give me the privilege to see the unseen and explore the unexplored and the benefits of “the roads not taken” I feel are reflected in my clicks.
You see being an adventurer, exploration has been imprinted in my DNA. As you already know my relationship with Nature kicked this desire in me to see the unseen, to know the unknown and this hunger won’t die until I have explored the seas, the mountains, the oceans, the forests and everything in between. I feel privileged to have been able to become a climber and a naturalist at the same time. You see my choice of the profession provides a lovely crossover between the two. Therefore, here I’m, Kaushik Mukhopadhyay, a Naturalist, a Wildlife and Adventure Photographer and a Filmmaker ready to take charge even in the remotest of areas.
